Baluster Stairs

In the past when a homeowner wanted the look, feel & strength of a real stone stairway balustrade system there was two options, concrete or limestone balustrade. Today, with advancements in building materials, there is another option that most homeowners are not aware of. That is synthetic balustrade.

With this new product, stairways can be installed on conventional framing thus eliminating the need for steel and all the additional labor involved with concrete or limestone stair balustrade. Synthetic Stone balusters for stairways…

* are considerably easier to install than your typical concrete or limestone balusters for stairs.

* are lightweight and can be installed by cutting them with a carpenters miter saw and using liquid nail you can secure them in place. Once the stairs balusters are in place, we send custom color matched caulking that is applied to the tops and the bottoms of each stair baluster

* have an extended 5” square top & bottom that allows for riser heights up to 8” for our A-1 through C-1 balusters

* can be installed in about ¼ the time it takes to install a concrete baluster.

With all stairway orders, we send a 1” ½ grip rails that is of the same material as the balustrade that will meet the national building code requirements for grip surface not to exceed 2” 5/8. These rails are installed with stainless steel brackets that mount under the top rail of the stairs.

Synthetic Stone Inc. can make one of the most difficult jobs on any stairway type such as the ramp & twist stairs, as simple for the contractor as possible. We do require that the builder send us the inside radius of the stairs and the rise and run of your treads. The rails will be made to that exact radius, along with the rise and run of that stairway, if you view our gallery you will see several jobs that have the ramp & twist stairs we have done. We have yet to have a rail sent back to us. If we are given the correct information, this job can be done easily and efficiently.
