Limestone Surrounds versus Synthetic Surrounds

Synthetic Stone Inc. is proud to introduce a new patent pending window and door surround. Our window and door surrounds are designed to replace real limestone surrounds. What makes our product different from a limestone surround is that we can mass produce this product as opposed to making each one a custom piece, this makes our product very competitive, giving customers a alternative that will save them time and money. We are listing below some of the differences between synthetic window & door surrounds and real limestone.

Limestone: When installing limestone window and door surrounds, this product is sent to the site in 3 to 4 foot pieces requiring a mortar joint at each section, because of the weight it takes three to four brick layers just to lift one of these sections and place it along side of the window as the brick is being laid on the wall. This is very labor intensive and expensive to install.
Synthetic: Our L-shape design of our window and door surround eliminates 80% of the weight, our window surround sections are in one piece eliminating all mortar joints, and one man can easily lift and install a 7' section of window surround without any additional help, saving time and money in the process.

Limestone: When ordering limestone window & door surrounds for a new home this will take about one week of preparation of the builders time to insure that everything is figured to the 1/8", because the builder knows if one mistake is made in his calculations, the installation of the brick on the home could be held up for 6 to 8 weeks waiting for the replacement pieces to be sent.
Synthetic: Our straight window and door surrounds are sent in 18' lengths our arches are sent in 5' pieces and custom fit on the jobsite. We require the window company send us the specs on all arch windows; we make all arch surrounds from these specs and figure the straight surrounds from the blueprint.

Limstone: When installing limestone window and door surrounds, the bricklayers are installing the surround as the brick is being laid. This is a accident waiting to happen, as bricks are being dropped from above normally one will accidentally hit several of the surrounds, chipping the surround, once damaged it is almost impossible to repair the damaged piece were it cannot be seen.
Synthetic: A 1" space is left around the entire window & door surround, this allows the brick layer to get completely done with the job, then our surrounds can then be installed preventing any damage to our surrounds.

Limestone: Real limestone window and door surrounds are made of stone cut from the earth, it is then cut into blocks of stone and then ran through a shaper to get the specified shape and size, this is very time consuming and expensive to produce.
Synthetic: The process of making one mold for our window and door surrounds is very time consuming also, but once the molds are completed we are able to use these molds for a very long time, making us very competitive.
